The Antlia Solar Discover 3nm CaK is an assembly consisting of one set of light reducing filters, designed to maximize imaging contrast of sun spots, solar surface granulation and other features that are prominent in CaK 393.3nm line.
An Antlia 3nm Ultra narrow bandpass filter wavelength centered on Calcium II K-Line 393.3nm is built in. Its high blocking specification of OD5(0.001%)@200-1200nm wavelengths intends to reduce solar heat ingress.
Compared to solar Herschel Wedge, the Antlia Solar Discover CaK 3nm assembly features a new tube structure design, as well as the addition of light-reducing filters. Installation is similar to the Antlia CaK 3nm Solar Herschel Wedge, with the telescope attached at one end and the camera at the another. The metal tube machined from aircraft aluminum CNN and oxidized. The filters are assembled in a fully closed tube. No stray light can escape from this.
It should be noted that the bandpass for Cak (393.3nm) makes solar features almost invisible to human vision because of the eye's low sensitivity at the CaK frequency. Hence, the Antlia Solar Discover 3nm CaK assembly is not recommended for visual observation.

If you need to use a zenith mirror in your solar imaging system, the ERF filter must be installed, as shown on Installation Diagram.
Important Notes
-Disassembly of the assembly is prohibited and voids warranty. Any repair/returns/exchange
for this item is not accepted once it has been disassembled.
- Never use the Antlia Solar Discover 3nm CaK assembly by itself for observing solar, otherwise irreparable eye damage will result.
- Only for use with REFRACTORS up to 100mm aperture
