Well, no it wasn't. There is a thriving counterfeiting industry in India and that cannot be ignored.

You don't see these comical telescopes coming from Romania or Kenya or Vietnam or Norway.

There is also a huge telephone and computer scam market there as well. People are constantly getting junk on their computers which lock them down or, tell them they have a huge bill with Netflix, Amazon, Norton's, Best Buy and so on! They bilk thousands of people out of millions of dollars daily! That is nothing that can be denied or considered to be a slight. It's just a fact. Plus, many of the police departments have been proven to be taking bribes from those organizations.

As for the telescope parts, I agree that the majority are marketed as display items for boardrooms and living rooms of people with more money than they need. They do look pretty but, I have not personally seen one offered as an antique or anything other than a decoration. This one in particular is only shown with no information at all so, let's be gracious and let it slide until someone provides evidence that it is being offered as something other than a decoration.

Your mileage may vary.

Now, perhaps we should get back to our regularly scheduled program.

This thread, like all others, needs to remain on topic, vintage, classic scopes are the prime target.Noting something to be a reproduction is helpful to some, but there's no need to repeatedly bash a certain brand, country or economy in the open forums.Direct that to your PMs please!
