A new record for SGW shipping! $381.53 from Jacksonville, FL to my location west of Boulder CO for this interesting Meade "Black/Blue" SCT with black tripod and wedge:

https://shopgoodwill.../item/190323302

$377 for me in CO too. I think I'm going to cancel my SGW account after this!

A Celestron CI-700 mount with tripod and rolling dolly, but no hand controller; one hour away from me:

And, it's sold...

$354 shipping to my location hahahahaha

It's $315 to Atlanta, less than 300 miles, so something is bogus there.

Wow - if you had a really fast car, like a Corvette or something, you could do a quick roadtrip to California!

Pick up a C14 for $1,500, then drive back through Texas on your way home to grabe a CI-700 for $495 -

I mean, it is like a 40 hour drive from Florida going the speed limit - but throw that out the window and go all Gumball Rally!  I'd help drive if someone else pays the speeding tickets...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Seriouisly - Both these are really nice deals - I'm hoping someone from this group grabs them...

What about the 400 cases of Coors?

Do you like spagetti?

attachicon.gif Cables.jpg

I found this photo in one of the other forums and I just had to keep it.

It looks like a joke but it was a serious post.

You might say it's a GGT, Grab and Get Tangled.

BTW, the SGW Meade is $387.70 to ship to me.

That's absurd :) Where's the RTG?

Questar 700 telephoto lens.

I hate when people vaporize their ads when the things sell.  What's to hide from?

I noticed on CN that ads will "vaporize" temporarily when they are updated until an admin re-approves it.

And, yes, they can also be deleted.

I hate anything with a hand control or even a drive. That is a mess jess. I even hate the CPC i got and it is going up for sale. I want a mount i can move myself and has SLO- MO's like my CI-700.  Nothing deep sky wise worth seeing in my sky anymore other than about 10 objects.

Member Astrojensen gave many reports of the outstanding performance of this telescope. That's a good deal.

There are a lot of nice Zeiss scopes on the German ebay.    Zeiss scopes and German ebay and takahashi scopes on Zen market.  Good thing I paid cash for my new car.

Could be legit, or it could be a tax dodge.  In Canada, we have to pay tax on shipping around Canada, but no tax on shipping into the U.S.  However, sales from specific organizations are now taxed and on Ebay, for example, people will sometimes put $20 for the product, $150 shipping.  The shipping is $20 and they get $150 for the product, but the buyer avoids the tax on $150.

Look at the pictures closely on the Meade LXD 55. I don’t like the angle of the finder and the tube might be crushed slightly where the band went around.

To me, it only looks like it is not aligned with the main tube.

I had an SN10 and this doesn't look like one, it looks like an SN8. I know the badge says 10".

As for the finder, it may or may not be poked in, but even if so that is very easy to fix if the price is right. It will have no impact on the image but may require recollmation, but the tube is easily repaired. This is local and I would go get it but I really have a full plate. I wasn't very impressed by the scope. The focuser was functional but embarrassingly cheap. The other mechanics and finish were good to very good. If you didn't have a 10" telescope it would be a great scope to adopt. The optics are like SCTs. They make great cameras at f/4 and you don't need a coma corrector. I sold mine to an imager and he was very happy.
