SDO is the Solar Dynamics Observatory and HMI is the
Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager aboard the spacecraft
which is in geosync orbit.  A large (~ 1.8 MB) HMI image of
the sun (4096x4096) has been colorized and annotated here
with all sunspots identified:

Please use the above link to download the full image and
zoom in to enlarge sun spots.  The Thumbnail below is a
~ 75 KB version of the image.

Here's a full sun blink between a Big Bear GONG H-alpha image

and an HMI continuum image both taken at ~2030 UT.  The GONG

image used is 2048x2048 pixels at ~ 1 arcsec/pixel while the

HMI image is 4096x4096 pixels at ~0.5 arcsec/pixel.  To get them

on the same scale the HMI image was binned 2x2 to get it to

2048x2048 at ~1 arcsec/pixel and then this was resized by a

factor of 0.93.  This latter factor will change during the course

of the year.  IMPPG was used to register the two images and

Movie Maker was used to make the blink.
