Tomorrow evening, the 54% illuminated moon will be very near M45, the Pleiades.

Should make an enjoyable wide-field view. Hope it is clear out...

Tomorrow night is supposed to be "cloudy with clear breaks, -17*C." Tomorrow daytime is supposed to be cloudy with sunny breaks. So there's a chance the weather will cooperate. If so I'll report. Thanks for the head's up!

Very thin cloud here. A large halo surrounds the moon. Both the moon and Pleiades visible but the thin cloud is making the view less than ideal.

Both are well within the FOV of my 10x50 binocs

Many years ago, that's kind of how I found Pleiades.as a beginner.

Pristine clear blue sky now, though.

The Moon, Aldebaran, and M45 will form a nearly isosceles triangle early tonight.

Cool beans, I often neglect the Pleiades when observing the sky, too easy a target, but it is a glorious sight in a wide field telescope or binoculars or even a finder scope.
