I decided to do a time-lapse of the milky way core rising this morning and completely by accident I also captured the ISS and Tiangong.

 

I had Stellarium running and happened to notice while the ISS was in the frame so I got to run outside to watch it briefly.  I always enjoy seeing the ISS.

Very nice! I frequently see ISS, but Tiangong is unfortunately invisible from my latitudes, due to too small orbital inclination.

On January 16th, I witnessed a pass of the ISS and two passes of the Tiangong.

Thanks!  Ah, but you probably get to see aurora more frequently than I do here at 44 degrees North.

Thanks!  Ah, but you probably get to see aurora more frequently than I do here at 44 degrees North. 

Alas, the auroral oval is offset so that aurora is about as common at 60 degrees north in Europe as 40 degrees north in North America.

Dang.  I did not realize that.  I am lucky here if I see it twice in a year.

Cross your fingers for the Tiangong. China is going desperately poorer every day. They are especially hard on young educated people and unemployment is exploding. I hope somebody rescues the crew.
