This spring the Saguaro Astronomy Club and the East Valley Astronomy Club will be co-hosting the 2024 Arizona Spring Star Party and Messier Marathon.

The dates will be the weekend of March 9/10 with site availability starting on the 7th for early birds. The Marathon will officially be on the 9th/10th.

The event will be held at a new observing field 1.5 hours from central Phoenix. Take I-10 west of Phoenix to the Hovatter Road exit (Exit 53). Be aware, there is a bump where the pavement ends. Then head NORTH on the dirt road keeping to the RIGHT fork for approximately 3.5 miles. You will see a mining excavation ahead in the mountainside. Take a sharp right turn onto the observing field. The coordinates are: 33.65540, -113.60318

There will be no formal dinner this year but we will have a midnight coffee/warm beverage area set up to help keep you going unto dawn.

I went to this last year and had a great time!

Lots of room to spread out or gather with a group.
