  Hello, I'm new to the binoviewer community. I  would like to have a setup that will be compatible with both telescopes. as for my current eyepieces I have 30mm 11mm 8.somthing and a 6.7 all explore scientific 82 degree. plus I have a Baader Hyperion click-stop zoom and a 2x televue powermate. I would also like to say I am a fan of Baader products. with a budget of around 1500. what would be my best options for a complete setup that would be compatible and give a decent range of magnifications for these 2 scopes. and BTW the Lunt solar scope has a 1.25 diagonal on it with a upgraded focuser. Can the nose pieces be switched out from 1.25" to 2"?  or will even make a difference. yeah I know I'm just full of questions. thanks to you all for sharing your valuable knowledge.

Unfortunately the two scopes you have are a few I don’t have binoviewing experience with. That said, you have a sizable budget, and I’d start with giving Russ at Denkmeier a call. The binotron binoviewer system is in my opinion one of the better options out there from a quality and ease of use standpoint (the powerswith is incredibly useful, and cost saving on eyepiece pairs). I know the binotron would work well with your night scopes, not sure about the Lunt, but Russ has years of adapting his units to work with h-alpha, so I’d be surprised if he didn’t have a turn key solution for you.

As Betacygni referenced, your Lunt will be the one that drives whether or not you can reach focus and what glass path correctors or Barlows you will need to do so.  The C9.25 will be able to reach focus with any binoviewer, BUT you will still want to minimize light path there as well to null out spherical aberration and avoid any aperture reduction.

 

Denkmeier Binotron is a nice set-up.

 

Since you like Baader, and have a $1500 budget for EPs plus binoviewer, the Baader MBII with all three GPCs (1.25x, 1.7x, 2.6x), Baader T2 diagonal(s) (eg BBHS mirror for refractor, Zeiss prism for C9.25 and astro amici for correct image viewing, as desired), and then a pair of long, medium and short focal length EPs (EPs are very personal) would be another good kit set-up and would have you covered for all situations.

by reading through this forum I found a online establishment that can supply me with a pair of lenses that will make the LS 50mmTHa work with bv's. One Lense will go into the diagonal over the blocking filter and the other one will go into the nosepiece and since the c9.25 doesn't require a gpc I will order a second nose piece to use with it. when I get in touch with them I will find out what gpc I will need for the Lunt setup then place my order for the bv's. the Online establishment is Harry Siebert and his name shows up several times in this forum with satisfied customers. a big thanks to all of you for your valuable knowledge. have a fantastic day. jack

The OCA setup that Harry Siebert Optics supplies serves as the GPC in the MBII for the Lunt telescope, the Baader GPC is not used with the Lunt 50Tha. GPC and OCA are two different companies' anagram names for what is functionally the same thing. I think Denkmeier calls theirs an OCS.

 thank you for clearing that up for me. So that means that I can go ahead and put in a order for my bv's . When my LS 50mm arrives I will contact Harry Siebert and put in my order for the universal OCA. thank you for sharing your knowledge. jack
