You can take the FITS file into say, ASI FITS Viewer (part of ASI STUDIO), and I think annotate it there.
You can also use ASI STUDIO to save the FITS file as a PNG file (that's what I do). Pretty sure that saves the annotations as well.
The file size will be much larger, of course.
The FITS file isn't just for post processing. I use it and don't do any post processing.
Yes, it doesn't save your histogram changes, but you can always save that jpg as well but tapping the save button as you currently do. You can also take a screenshot of your screen showing histogram adjustments and, maybe, replicate those in ASI Studio (not sure if that's considered post processing, though).

This hasn't been an issue for me because I use Android phone or BlueStacks on Windows 10 or Windows Subsystem for Android on Windows 11.
