I decided to undust my old full spectrum 6D mkI and give it a chance in my travel rig.
Any recommendations on a simple and LIGHTWEIGHT cooling solution for the sensor? Back in the day I tried dry ice packs on the back of a smaller camera (d5100) with good results, but getting dry ice on my tavel destinations will be very likely impossible. Liked it though because the packs also acted as a moisture trap being so cold that they froze all humidity around. Switching to salt ice (never got a mixture better than ~-13Ā°C) would leave me with loads of water I am afraid. Other salts (CaCl2) are better but I'd definitely opt out from the "flying with an nunknown white powder guy" stickeršŸ¤£

I never bothered when I had the 6D, but a simple cooling fan will help cool the exterior body shell.

If your 6D has a flip out monitor like my 60D does, check out my DIY post below for a possible solution.  you may have to get creative but it is far cheaper than modding your camera with a cooler.

The 6D mkI doesn't have a flip screen unfortunately.
