Hi RedOnion !!

I have one and thought about changing the clamshell out too and i suspect it demands unscrewing the silver edged 'arrowed' focuser from the tube as getting the dewshield off is a no go uncertain outcome.

** i don't know if it ACTUALLY unscrews but it must -Somehow- to seperate the two components.**

I kinda like it now as easy to turn in its orientation and simple and light.

What a SUPERB little scope FYI a Pentax 30XW gives a snap to pinpoint stars field at 13.1X and a WOW 5.2degree field.

Hi RedOnion !!

Could you flesh out how that procedure is a bit more accurately ?

Just turn the DS counterclockwise and it comes right off ?
then also ccw the lens cell ?

If so that is easy peasy and makes my blackening chore MUCH EASIER.

THANKS !!

Hi, first you have unscrew counterclockwise DS from own silver ring and then take off DW and then Lens i think also counterclockwise and take silver part of the DS and Telescope Clamshell Ring from the front. Then is done smile.gif
