Difficult to focus with early evening captures but I lucked out a few times tonight. Got some detail following the GRS and some interesting happenings in the NEB so it was kind of productive. Used the 11" f/5.7 Newtonian, 5x Powermate and ZWO 224MC camera. The seeing was quite nice early on though it is more difficult for me to process the almost daylight captures. Not sure if there is any secret to getting better results. Some wind jostling the scope around so I used a larger ROI resulting in less frames per second and not as efficient light throughput. I used approx 4.4 ms exposure but only 84 fps. Actually pretty satisfied with the results.

These are 35% stacks from 10k or so frames. Sorry about the poor color balance.

Yes, not sure how to adjust stacking/sharpening software for these early evening captures.

Nice images.  I was going to try and shoot between the clouds last night but decided the seeing forecast didn't justify the effort.  Seeing your result makes me wish I had given it a go here in Dallas.  Lots of clouds forecast for the coming week.  Ugh.  Mike (Borodog) has become really good at the early evening color adjustments.  Maybe he can give them a go for you.

Great shots Mike. I don't know how you continue to get such good seeing for so long. (I'm a bit jealous!) Anyway, well done for so late in the season.

Cheers Paul
