Hopefully the title explains it.
A pre-owned EM-200 Temma 2 has come up for sale near-ish to us and I am thinking the higher capacity would be useful. It is the head, weights, etc, only, does not come with the tripod.
It is a fair distance away from us and I don't really want to have to make the journey to check it out until I am sure I have the below confirmed.
I currently have an EM-11 head with a Tak SE tripod. The Tak adverts say the SE tripod is capable of handling the capacity of an EM-11 and EM-200, so that's the tripod legs sorted.
The snag is the adaptor plate/casting which goes on top of the legs to attach the tripod to the head.
I would prefer to keep using my existing EM-11 adapter because:
i) I dont want to have to buy an EM-200 adaptor if I don't need to (if any stock even exists now), and
ii) The EM-11 adaptor can be rotated. It allows me to continue to use the mount as a pseudo alt-az mount (for manual ISS tracking etc). Tak's EM200 tripod adapter does not rotate (their EM-200 pier adaptor does).
Having looked at photos of the bottom of an EM-200 head with a ruler next to it and compared it with the sizing of my EM-11 base I am pretty sure the EM-200 and EM-11 bases have the same dimensions, so both should in theory be usable on the EM-11 adaptor, but just wanted to check if any one has owned both and could confirm it.
Many thanks.
