I have an older Denkmeier with power switch. The thread that connects the power switch to the bino-viewer body no longer holds. It has very fine threads and only a few actually thread in. Has anyone else had this problem? I suppose some loctite might do the trick? I'm hesitant to do anything that might get on the optics somehow. Is there a way to expand the male threads on the end of the tube? Probably only need a 1mm or so. Something like what's used to expand exhaust pipes or swage tubing?

Do you have a picture?
Might be best to contact Russ, if you didn't acquire this second-hand.

I would thing you could safely apply thread lock , doesn’t take much.
Make sure it’s the removable type.
Would Teflon tape work?
Russ usually doesn’t offer advise to secondhand buyers, maybe things have changed.
Let us know what works

I picked this up second hand and so didn't reach out to Russ, as I've heard he offers assistance only to the original buyer. (the original buyer is deceased, I got this from his estate)
Yeah, I may give the teflon tape a shot first and see how that goes. Should be easily reversible if it doesn't work out.

I bought a new ocs for a used pair of denk ii’s and the threads from the powerswitch to the nosepiece were almost but not quite the same size. Russ recommended teflon tape, which has held up great for years. Hopefully it works for you too.

Teflon tape seems to have done the trick, we'll see if it holds up.
