Is there a list somewhere that shows all the objects in the autostar controller without having to fumble around in the controller itself?

I was wondering if the comet this month is in it "Comet 12P/Pons-Brooks".

On this page, scroll down to 'Database Information'. http://www.weasner.c...ostar_info.html

You will have to update comet (and asteroid) orbital elements. http://www.weasner.c.../as_comets.html

Gday 737 Mechanic

It is possible to find out whats in each version of the specific firmwares

but comets/asteroids/satellites are user objects, and as such, can be loaded/changed/deleted by users.

In order to know if its currently in your Hbx, you would need to scroll through all the comets manually

or download the comet data from your Hbx to your PC , and search that way.

I have the  LX200GPS and just updated the Autostar II handbox to 4.2g through StarPatch. No matter how many times and ways I align the scope and set the time, date and GPS coordinates, I can't get it to slew properly to planets or stars. When I set a goto for a star or planet that is obviously visible, it tells me that it doesn't rise for hours hense. I can set the correct time and date, but when I turn off the scope and power it up, the date defaults to 2004. Is there a way to erase the handbox data and reload it? I have ASU Autostar suite up and running. Sorry for all the issues, but I'm a newbie astronomer and still learning my way around this telescope. Thanks.

I advise to start a new thread in 'Telescope Specific Forums - Meade Computerised Telescopes' and/or 'Equipment Discussions - Cats & Casses'. Better chance of getting answers.

I looked there and got exactly the information that I needed to solve the problem. Thank you for your advice!
