I wonder if that focuser is an exact fit for the C-6 150mm?

The bell was included with mine but missing the tripod.
Much like ours which was for a 12-1/2" reflector. The bell is a beast and it keeps getting in the way! I wish the old man would put it up for grabs already! I suspect he will replace the tripod when he overhauls the mount and such. Although, he MAY rig it up for use with one of the big refractors. He has not yet let me in on that plan which likely means he has not plan, yet. LOL

That looks like a sweet deal to me. I'd buy it if I wasn't already drowning in classic scopes!
I've always heard that those white one-armed bandits were the best of the lot as far as domestic/USA made Celestron C5s. I always wanted on but never had one. I did have a 1977 orange one for a while. It was cute as a bug but didn't wow me to look through.

Had 4 Orange C5's one with the holes in the forks and 3 of the later 70's -80's deals. All seemed good but not freaky sharp like two much newer 1's i had.

Tasco 4VTE, 40mm lens.

Eliminate the zoom focuser parts, cut the tube, and it makes a good finder.
Or, cut the tube, remove the zoom-erecting junk, graft a 0.96" diagonal on the end of the focuser and use it like a real telescope.

A Tak spin off i guess. I love them type of mounts.
It looks like a supersized version of the Carton Supernova.

They always had much better mounts than we did.

I thought that was what I said.

Just what I need for my badly busted C6, but not interested
in dealing with zenmarket. Any experienced "zenmarketeers"
here feeling the need to help out a fellow optical traveler?
JB WELD, done properly, failed here.

Buying from Zen is actually really easy.
1. Create an Account
2. Add funds to the Account (You can pull the money back out if you don't win the items you want, so there's no risk here)
3. Bid on the Item and Win.
4. In a few days Zen will charge you for the shipping cost to the Zen warehouse.
5. Once the Zen warehouse receives the item, they will let you know. They will hold your items for 45 days, which means you can buy many things and have them all consolidated in one parcel to save costs. Once they have received everything you want, you go to the "Parcels" page of your account, choose what you want packaged together, and pay for intl shipping.
6. Wait for the items to arrive at your door.

That mirror will be too small to fit the cell?

Would you recommend using a debit/credit card or Paypal? I'm inclined to use Paypal but the website says that CC/Debit cards are "recommended".

I use a credit/debit card with no issues.

You are correct sir.
That Vixen 135mm mirror is smaller than the C6 mirror. DUH!
Details, Details, Details!!! Gadzooks...Somebody slap me.
Hold that thought. I'll just apply a little self-induced, much needed,
senior abuse to my own self. Ahhhhh, better now.
Unlike my mirror, THANK YOU for the clarity.

And that's maybe not all. The curve of the focuser base looks a little tight for the smaller 135mm tube. It might not fit well with the larger C6 diameter tube. Then again they might use the same size tube, inquire?

Huge equatorial mount of unknown make, very interesting. 6" x 18" saddle plate, 220 lbs total. Some Tak-like features. Huge RA gear. What is this?

My bet is that that IS a TAK mount, probably from the late 70s or early 80s, though I haven't been able to find one like it. It's been repainted, but things like the green knobs are typical Tak (match those on my 1985 Em-1 mount and epsilon 130). Looks like it's been well used, but still looks serviceable. it also looks like it *might* be a bit bigger than an NJP (another wonderful mount), but hard to be sure. So many other parts scream takahashi, too. Particularly the pier and legs. My em-500 has a very heavy pier (about 6" diameter thick wall spun steel) with cast iron legs that look just like those pictured. too bad it's across the big pond (but I have a nice old em-500 and an NJP anyway).

Scared to use Zen and would never trust Pay pal. Plus the shipping cost would turn me off from over seas.

The mount is a UJI Tentai Seiki. I agree with Tim it has several attributes of the early Takahshi mounts.

My guess is about $2000+ to bring it over here. And, my guess is this will not go cheap. It's highly desirable.
