It’s dawn in Maine, the chickadees are singing, the sun is starting to come over the mountains. Good luck to all, and clear skies!

I see high clouds (over Houlton) mad.gif, but we still have several hours.

That’s not inconsistent with the GFS model’s prediction, but it shows clear sailing for you soon. I haven’t been watching Houlton, but I’ve been very encouraged that the models really haven’t changed much in their predictions over the weekend for Western Maine. I’m hoping that means stable predictable weather systems in the region, and that GFS will be right that you will clear up.

UPDATE:

Sugarloaf is reported to be at capacity, and the access road is closed. Unclear to me at this time if they’ll let you in on foot.

ADDITIONAL UPDATE: The whoopie pies they’re selling seem to be home-made, and weigh about 6 pounds. Be warned that each time you touch it, about 10% of it will stick to your fingers when you pull them away. They are, however, amazing.

I won’t say it was a premonition or anything, but I had a pretty solid feeling about today for Maine.

I hope everyone else had as… transcendent a time as we did at Sugarloaf. First one for everyone in my group. If you’ve never seen one, and you missed this due to weather or circumstances, please do keep trying. It is more worth it than you can know.

Well said. It's the greatest show on Earth.
