Hello Everyone,

I’m a very novice amateur astronomer. My goal is simply put, to make my own equitorial grid, observe the stars on my own, and place them onto my grid, my own Ursa Major star map.
When I observe with my binos, I use finger measurements and reference points to note the rough distances between the stars. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but it’s gotta be mine :)

However, I do want to make the grid as perfect as possible. I wanna use a compass and have the correct angles. Can someone guide me on how? Maybe recommend a written source? I would be very happy.

Clearest skies to you all!
