I was not in the path of totality, but did manage to get one picture at 99.998% partial where I was in South Tyler, Texas. The clouds opened up just long enough for me to capture this with my Canon RP attached to my AT8RC on my CEM40NUC mount.

Clouds frustrated my attempts to get the corona, so shifted focus on prominences instead. Surprised by how well it came out, the one at 5 o’clock is the only one we saw naked eye. Canon 300 f4L at f8. Fort Worth Zoo. (We figured we would watch the animals get confused by the sudden darkness to keep us entertained if the clouds stayed too thick.)

Heck, I would probably still look at that with my naked eye, at least for a sec, that probably was barely brighter than the prominence lol. But 99.998? Why didn't you just take the 4 steps to the left? haha. You couldn't have been too far from a line?

Getting into the HDR. Still figuring it out. This is using the radial blur in photoshop to bring out the coronal loops.

Hi, All!
I’m starting to think the bad weather over Killeen Texas might have been a blessing. The results of so many here are so unusual and different than what one thinks a total solar eclipse should look like.
Here’s my contribution.
Clear skies, or not,
Jay

Wow - and there are cars driving during totality. Wow.

I am having a hard time keeping up with this thread. Great stuff!
I am getting creative with my eclipse data.

It's nice to see a lot of people were getting decent captures with their smartphones. Here is one I shot with a Samsung S22 Ultra in raw, afocal with my old Meade DS90EC and a white light filter. I was not in the path of totality but it was my first encounter with any kind of solar eclipse, so that was exciting for me.

My wife and I drove down to Dripping Springs starting Saturday. We spent the night in Lubbock, then drove into the area on Sunday afternoon.
We met up with the Colorado Springs Astronomy club at a family resort called The Highlands. Some of our other members were in a farm field in Fredericksburg TX. My wife prefers a bed to a sleeping bag. My goal was to get better shots than the 2017 Eclipse, and if I was lucky some corona images.
Sunday night I stayed up late and got the mount calibrated and polar Alighted and hopped for a break in the WX for Monday. I got up around 3 AM and looked outside to see low clouds and threatening conditions.
Starting at 10 AM Monday I uncovered the mount and scope and started doing some focus tests. Around 10:30 I figured it was as good as it was going to get and waited for the event to start. When the Eclipse started, I shot images at 1-minute intervals. With making a video in mind. Exposures were all over the place as I was compensating for thin then thick clouds.
As totality got near, we got a break and the clouds cleared to a thin overcast. The corona was out as the thin clouds blew any hopes of extended exposures. As the majority of the sun was covered, I pulled the solar filter off and switched the camera from single to 20 FPS busts. All total I shot 950 images.
The imagery was head and shoulders better than what I got in 2017. That was a near disaster as a half hour before totality, it clouded over. I spotted a sunny patch on the northern end of the military base I was on and threw everything in the car and drove to sunlight. I managed to get the system set up about 1 min before totality, poor focus and shooting at 100mm did not give me much.
This time I didn't have to move! I started shooting with about 1 minute to totality, and continued through the event until the sun stated peeking out the other side. Everyone was excited as we caught an enormous break in the WX.
The eclipse rig was a GCX mount, Tele Vue np101is, Thousand Oaks mylar filter, Canon R5, and a marine 80 Ah battery and three plug DC-AC inverter supplying power to the R5.

I able to dig this frame out of a very few frames I did get of the end of eclipse. Right at the moment the eclipse ending, the sudden extreme brightness of the diamond ring effect was messing with the camera focus but it had recovered for several frames before I put the solar filter back on. Not bad for a poor man's Iphone 7 on a 8 inch dobsonian. Amazed how lucky I got. You can see the lens flare as well caused by the intense light.

I have ZERO clue how to process my eclipse images, so these have only been cropped/centered, turned into JPG, and file size reduced to post here.
If anyone could be so kind as to point me in the proper direction for good, easy-to-follow tutorials on eclipse post-processing, I'd be grateful.
I currently have GIMP, RawTherapee, Photoshop CS2, Siril, DSS, AutoStakkert....willing to look into something else if necessary, but cannot afford the likes of PixInsight at the moment.
I would also like to note that while I have zero issue with terrestrial/traditional photo editing, my astro post-processing leaves a lot to be desired. And I have yet to create a successful stack, much less a final product that isn't a train wreck.
Advice and pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated.
Lovely photos from everyone!
