Years ago, I bought a 90mm solar filter, and figured I would never use it. So it went into hibernation in the closet for years. This morning, when all that was on TV was about the eclipse, I remembered my filter, and finally found it among lots of other stuff I probably do not remember .

So I got out my 90 ETX, put the filter on, and got my wife's I phone, and went out and saw some spectacular views. Could see the peaks of the mountains sticking up against the sun background. I took several pictures, just holding the phone to the eyepiece, and they turned out really good. Sorry, do not know how to transfer to a computer.

I know the pictures will not match lots of pictures from other CN members, with high priced, more tech equipment, but something that did cost me any thing extra, I am well pleased with my pictures. Almost did not remember that I had a filter, and would have missed this al together. We had about 73 % totality here in NC, but could see the difference outside here, sky looked funny, the inside of the house was really darker, and just looked eerie. I know I will not be around when the next one comes, so am happy I did remember, and was able to participate in this one as good as I did.
