I’m considering picking up a second set of these for my binoviewer, but first would like to hear thoughts on whether they are good for the application.

Thanks!

They are very good, but I would rather choose here MOP or TPL eyepieces.

Matching what you already have will get you very fine performance at efficient cost. Those are high performance ep's at reasonable $ if you can find 'em.

I've had those and prefer the TAO 32mm/12.5mm combo. But I think I'd hate to have to closely nail down all the differences

I have pairs of the 6, 9, 12.5, and 18mm Fujiyama orthos and think they are excellent for binoviewing.

The 12.5, 18 and 25 Fujiyama orthos  are perfect eyepieces in binos

Now I only use the 12.5 .

You wont regret

They’re very nice. Having used them for years in my binoviewers, I don’t rate them more highly than TeleVue Plossls, or other Japanese orthos - Kasais/BGO etc. But they’re every bit as good. If you have more cash to invest, I’d also take a look at the TPLs as Denis recommended - they are exceptionally nice. Haven’t tried the MOPs yet.

I have never looked through a TeleVue plossl or the TPLs, but I have heard enough good about both that I am sure I will pick them up in future.  And yes, I realize that neither use a true plossl design!
