I've just returned home to the UK after viewing the eclipse from Magog, Canada, and have only just started reviewing and processing my images.

 

I thought I'd post this quick animation of totality. A lot of lay people on the day remarked on the bright prominence which shone out like a red searchlight on the lower left part of the disk. This animation shows how it emerged during the latter part of totality.

 

Captured with a Canon 700d and Sigma 150-500mm zoom set at 400mm, f/11, 1/1000 sec, ISO 200

Thanks! I just used Photoshop. I aligned the layers, set the frame rate to 0.3 seconds and exported the gif.
