The early discount goes off on May 1st but the trending of registration’s shows may be sold out by then. Two weeks in would be the fastest this event has been sold out. Astronomy is alive and well!!!

Mike - Make sure you checkout the site and prep videos on the right side of the front page. Great resource for first timers!

I e been checking a few times a week, have not seen the documents updated for 2024 yet. They did email me about the cass train ride which I am very excited about. Years ago I was on a motorcycle trip in tje area, we stopped by the kick telescope, which you couldn’t get close to, and the stopped by the cass railroad. The train came in and blew the whistle, tje way it echoed in the valley was amazing.

Only thing I am not sure about is what time we are allowed to show up on that Friday oh and what scopes to bring, not enough room in my Subaru for everything I want to bring

I recently acquired a sky box from a gent on here and have been using it in my driveway to cover up my scopes between imaging runs,

pretty excited about the dark skies.

Mike - I actually updated all the documents late last week except the event calendar as we are working out when each speaker will do their talks. AHSP arrival time is always 10am Friday.  I'm on vacation but we are compiling the attendees and an email will be sent out soon with the event information!

Best,

Chris

Ah thank you, appreciate the reply - I kept seeing the note on the top of the page that says "We are in the process of updating this information linked for AHSP 2024!" Which is what it still says lol.

no that you said it i see some of the docs have been updated thanks for letting me know that, I will read through the stuff. I'm pretty excited to go, hopefully the weather is good. Every day I mess with my co worker in Elizabeth KY that every day they have thunderstorms through KY, for once I am glad to be in NE Ohio We had more clear skies lol.

Hello, I'm registered, but I can't make it to the star party. Can I sell my spot with a CN ad or does the AHSP have a wait list?

I neglected to sign up for the meal plan and am thinking I should have - I sent an email a few days ago to the ahspinfo@novac.com but I am sure you folks are busy. Is it possible to sign up for the meal plan after the fact?

Thanks!

Mike

Mike - I forwarded your request on and you should hear from Jackie early this coming week. Meals can be added up until a certain point or if they hit the mx limit for a day. In both cases I believe we are still good to go.

I'm working on the TV screen schedule and weather layout now! :)

Best,

Chris

Another minor point - in the FAQ on the webiste, in the Event information tab, under Who, What, Where, when and Why? the sentence reads "The Almost Heaven Star Party will be held Friday-Tuesday, August 26 – 30, 2022,, at"

Should update that, in case someone saw the DATEs but did not realize the YEAR was wrong.

If everyone read the FAQ we would be in great shape huh?! :) Removed the date so it won't be an issue going forward. I've tried to remove things that change every year from the pages as it is too hard to find them all annually.

That’s a good idea, would hate for someone to get confused by something so easy to miss.

The weather is not looking favorable for us so far. Hopefully will clear up as we get closer to the dates.
