Why sit around waiting for someone to manufacture better binocular telescopes when you can build them right now?

Analog Sky is very proud to announce full kits for our Magic 50mm binoculars are now available for preorder. They include 3D printed parts, optics, hardware, eyepieces, and supplies. Just add a tripod and bring back the stars! The kits include quality f/4.5 optics for magnification up to 75x. Magic redefines both the "lightweight grab and go" category and the "first telescope" category. For beginners and advanced amateurs alike, the 2" focusers and filter cartridges give incredible wide, full exit pupil views all the way down to 4x. Magic is featured in this month’s Sky and Telescope Astronomer’s Workbench!

Analog Sky Ember--the world's most advanced 50mm binocular--is available now and preorders for full kits start May 3. Choose your focal ratio from f/3.6 to f/7, add accessories on a customizable grid, use 2" or 1.25" eyepieces for magnification from 4x-116x, magnetic 2" or 1.25" filter cartridges, and merge any eyepieces with two knobs. (Yes, any eyepiece--we defeated the undercuts.) Microbaffling along the entire optical path ensures high-contrast views. You can start with budget optics and upgrade at any time!

For those wanting a dedicated solar binocular that's always ready to go during this solar maximum, there's Analog Sky Sunny! The daytime version of Ember uses smaller diagonal mirrors for 1.25" eyepieces and 1.25" filter cartridges. Like Ember, Sunny has a built-in solar finder, solar shade holder, and safe, permanently-bolted-on solar filters with protective caps. (Say goodbye to cardboard, friction-fit, and rubber bands!) Sunny also goes on preorder May 3.

Since we launched in September, over 200 people have joined our community and built their own stargazing binoculars. They’ve had a great time with the build. And they’ve had unforgettable views of the April 8 eclipse and the Winter Milky Way. We’ve updated many parts based on user feedback so every day our binoculars get even better. Join us on our quest for the perfect binocular telescopes, starting now at 50mm. 80mm Heart is coming this Summer with 200mm Dream after that!

Thanks! I noticed over in the other forum you were interested in the idea of f/6 or f/7 50mm. We've had half a dozen people build Ember at f/7 and a couple at f/6 and they're really pleased. I've been working on an eyepiece course for making your own 2" 46mm/62 deg and 34mm/65-70deg eyepieces with pretty decent image quality to get full exit pupil views even at slower focal ratios. So just in case you don't have a pair of Vixen 42 LVW's stashed somewhere, we have your back.

So, any plans to make Sunny available as a complete set?

Yes! The plan was to release today for preorder but this week I've had a sick kid and our main computer got fried by a bad USB port so it'll probably be mid-week. Same for Ember.
