Hi to all,

 

I am working on selling my brother's collection due to his passing away. This photo is of one meteorite that Greg collected and probably use to set up for astronomy events. It was not with its paper work so I know it was in his traveling show, so probably a favorite. Does anyone know what it might be so I can begin looking for its paper work? Thanks in advance.

Hello Greg,

That is what is called Lybian Desert Glass. It was formed when a meteor tuned into a Bolide and exploded over the Lybian Desert about 29 million years ago melting and fusing the desert sand.

Very cool. I found the authentication card before seeeing your post Jethro 7 and searched it up and saw some interesting reads on it. Makes it a treasure found. Thank you.
