If I handhold my PVS-14 to look at the sky,

does anyone know would this cause vignetting if I use 1.25" filters?

I've been using the Televue adapter and 2" filters. looks like this might make life a little easier.

ETA: for the link: https://rafcamera.co...s-to-astro-1-25

Is this the adapter that you mean:  https://rafcamera.co...s-to-astro-1-25

If so, it works just fine.  It never leaves my ENVIS as I have standardized all my afocal viewing to a 1.25" coupling format.  I have about a dozen eyepieces that I can use in afocal mode this way.

No vignetting. The entry pupil of a 27mm f/1.2 objective is 22.5mm. The 1.25" filter has M28.5 threads, so there is some wiggle room (and whatever is clipped by the filter off-axis because the filter is not at the entry pupil is also usually already clipped in the NVD objective, which doesn't have 100% illumination at the edge either.)
