This "Madness" must end!

Okay, so according to the "Farmer's Almanac", which apparently has been naming full Moons since 1938, this month's Full Moon is the "Flower Moon". Why, why not? Actually, it is named thusly because it signifies the arrival of spring and heralds the blooming of flowers and suxh.

At least it is not a "Super Moon". Don't you just love the Super Moons? Hmmm, perhaps a new member of the Avengers? Wait, didn't the Avengers disband after the death of Tony Stark (A.K.A. Ironman) R.i.P. Oh well. I shall always consider the Moon a "super hero", and why not...look at everything it does for us!

Luna, my "super hero".

Clear skies and keep looking up!

Just back from observing the May Full Flower Moon. Big, bright and beautiful. Funny, could swear I smelt "roses".

Sometimes you have to stop, look up and smell the Moon! LOL !

I have no problem with the "super Moon" terminology. It's just a convenient term to denote when the Moon is conspicuously larger and brighter because it's closer, which is a thing I am interested in.

I also don't mind the naming of full Moons. It seems to help with public interest. It's no skin off my nose if they call it the Flower Moon or the Wolf Moon or the Ice Cream Moon or the Skinny Dipping Moon or whatever.

Hey Borodog, I agree with you. I just get a kick out of spouting off a humorous (hopefully) post-rant because I love making fun of silly sounding things, ie; Lake Titikaka, Catch-A-Can Alaskya, LOL! (I spelt it wrong on porpouse).

Plus it gives me something to do...I do not exactly live the most exciting life !!!

Clear skies and keep looking up!
