Hello group,

NGC 2683 is a spiral galaxy at a distance of 30 million light years. There is a lot to discover in the galaxy and its neighborhood.

NGC 2683 with TEC200FL + QHY268:

Cropped image in 120% resolution:

NGC 2683 is rich in globular clusters and harbors about 300 of them, twice as many as in the Milky Way. The TEC image shows 14 globular clusters:

There are lots of galaxies in the background. I have put together a small selection of the galaxy zoo in 200% resolution:

The object identification shows in the field of the TEC image the two dwarf galaxies NGC 2683 dw1 and NGC 2683 dw2 as well as six galaxy clusters with light travel times between one and five billion years:

The DSLR wide-field image shows two additional satellite galaxies of NGC 2683 (KK 69 and KK 70):

best,
Bernhard

Hello David, Mert and all others!

Thank you very much for your nice words and all likes!

There is another special feature to discover in the image: a gravitational lens arc of the galaxy cluster SDSS J0851+3331.
I have created a crop in 400% resolution for this. This image is no longer beautiful, but it shows the arc better.
