Looking for recommendations on a short-tube Newtonian for photography. F/4 sets quite a few challenges I know. Still I would like to venture in this territory because this speed would be more forgiving to the mount & guiding and also more travel friendly being basically airline compatible. For camera I'd start with a modified Nikon D5100 with this scope, not the lightest but still, lighter than a few eyepieces out there...

So far the candidates:

RVO Horizon

Stellalyra

QUATTRO 150P with its own corrector, limited to approx 4/3rds sensor size (less than APSc) but super-fast f3.45! Expensive at first.

TS Photon

Altair

I am on the UK side of the pond, unsure if I can get the Apertura carbon unit here at reasonable shipping and customs costs.

I believe several of your options are rebranded GSO (Taiwan) product, basically the same ota.

Yeah, most likely going for a 2nd hand Quattro 150p, at least the second hand pricing leaves some budget for the needed upgrades.

This looks like the CarbonStar.

Looks very compact for a 6 inch.

I have used a Quattro 150P successfully with an ASI2600mc pro camera (APSc) and it works great with flats to correct for some vignetting in the corners.  This is very fast system - but the 1.5" pixel scale is rougher than fits my tastes for a scope this size.

Currently I use a this as my galaxy scope (smaller pixel monochrome camera) - where this is a small scope that can reach deep to see faint objects in the sky.

Yeah, if your seeing allows, a 183MM could be beneficial for details🔬
