maybe $200,000 at the very most.

Well the 9" TMB would go for 60k alone and then the AP1200 6k. I know it's not millions but 200k just as well be millions to me.

That's Stewart, he lives in the mountains west of Pueblo. apfever knows him, we've spoken about him on occasion. Besides the amazing inventory you see here, his house is full of other amazing treasures and oddities, including a full size stuffed bear and many other taxidermy pieces.

Ha, Stew is thinning the astronomy gear....well maybe sorta....likely to to have a different pile again later.  He's been doing this for may years. He's primarily a taxidermist and his collections tend to be related but it puts him in touch with a lot of trades and such.  He's about as likely to be 'done' with astronomy gear as I am. Hmmmm, maybe I am a little fried on it.

A new LX200 tripod is 1k new?

This is a dumbed-down version without the large widely spaced hub bosses on the original which give it such stability.

Re Stewarts ad:

What model would the "6” Astro Physics refractor on losmandy mount (older) and tall tripod" most likely be?

Maybe I should pay him a visit (I'm 2.5 hrs away)...

However, we are talking about telescopes in this thread

Agreed, I probably shouldn’t have posted those comments in this thread.  I Just found it interesting that the depth of telescopes offered for sale matched other things in his ads.

No doubt that there are a number of people waiting to snipe on that as the auction end draws closer. No way that it doesn't go above $100, or probably even more. If I hadn't just made three other purchases this week, I would have no problem bidding $100 on it.

I ended up with that little beauty. Best alt/mount I have ever touched. Lens is dusty on both sides but appears cleanable. This might be a keeper for me.

Don't. The scope was advertised in this thread and no one, including me, jumped on it. You scored a deal, that's all.

Nice job.  Good to know it went to someone who will care for it.

Less important than if the Stowaway is an original fluorite model.
