I'm planning to go to cherry springs in early august. To reserve a spot at the oberservational field, do you have to go in person? We will hopefully stargaze from a cabin backyard, but would love to look through giant telescopes on the field, if possible.

We want to get a spot, and not get locked out due to max size.

There are no reservations for the Overnight Astronomy Observation Field.

Are you aware of the Woodmen Show taking place on August 2, 3, & 4?

there was a star party there in June, think next one is September... otherwise you'd just have to happen to find some random person that's brings a dob for a possibility to look through one.

plan for September or next year to go during an actual star party to get a peek through something huge.

this time around just enjoy the skies..unless that wood show will impede things :(

Huh, it moved, I don't remember it being on that day.

I'll just try and go from the 6th to 10th.
