The annual Mount Kobau Star Party will be held August 3-11, 2024, near Osoyoos, British Columbia (close to the Canada-USA border).  Pre-registration is "preferred", but you can register on-site.

 

Although the 2023 event was cancelled due to a local wildfire, Mount Kobau gets you above the valley haze at 1,840 meters (6,036 feet) elevation.  Nights there are cool and clear!  See this map and Observing List.

I'm wondering how wildfire smoke has affected the Mount Kobau Star Party seeing conditions so far.  Per the BC Wildfire Service Map, there are a lot of "out of control" fires north of the mountain.  The wildfire smoke forecast animation for the next two days shows the region quite smoky at times; pan/zoom to the Osoyoos, BC area:
