Not really needed but the cheap price, local ship and the fact that I do not already have an eyepiece with this FL made me buy a Long Perng 55° plössl 20mm.

So far, I like the quality.

Then I have seen they have a 12,5 and 17mm and none of my eyepieces have these FL....

Just received my 28 mm Explore Scientific 68 degree AFOV.

Adding this to my 18 mm and my 40 mm. I think this gives me pretty good coverage.

I broke down and bought a Svbony sv135 7-21.

I think I can move on with the urban PN observation program.

Inkie, glad to hear you’re doing well, and hope that your wife sees some improvement. It’s good you were able to de-stress a little with some new gear therapy. Those are both outstanding eyepieces.

Saw this only just now.  Thank you very kindly....means a lot.

Had to snag one of the remaining 25mm HD-60s from the HP sale, just to satisfy my curiosity.

How much was it?

Someone lent me the 25mm, 9.7mm and 6.7mm(?) HD60s.  The 25mm has a slightly narrower TFoV than the 25mm Paradigm but is considerably sharper off-axis.

Was $50.

I've seen them on AliExpress sell for $60 at the lowest, so I figured this was the best price I was going to get save for getting one used.

Got these two, a SkyRover 24mm 50° reticle eyepiece and a 10mm Vixen NPL Plossl.

IMG_8441.jpeg

The reticle eyepiece is to be used when desired in an Askar guidescope that I have set up with a star diagonal to act as a finder and/or telescope. Had to figure out how to get the reticle in focus (turn the eyepiece’s focusing ring…), but now it’s all set. Gives a nice clear view.

The Vixen 10mm Plossl also works well, and surprisingly to me, I’m finding the eye relief to be fine. This success with the eye relief would tempt me to go for the 8mm in the series, but perhaps fortunately my local shop only carries the 6mm among the shorter lengths. Since I’m not interested in going as short as 6mm, nor do I want the too-long-for-me 40mm, I think I’ve finished out my buying of the NPL series (30mm, 25mm, 20mm, 15mm, and now finally 10mm). Kinda finally realizing my old childhood dream of getting a set of what was once considered to be a higher end eyepiece design (the Plossl) that I couldn’t afford as a kid. Not that the NPLs are the best Plossls or anything, but the 30mm NPL happened to be my first Plossl and it turned out to be very much the right eyepiece at the right time for me, so I finished scratching my Plossl itch with others from this series (might still get a 32mm GSO someday to provide a full max 1.25" field of view, but nothing pending)

Congrats!
These NPLs are very nice eyepieces, really like them. I find the 40mm really cool and provides full field of view… it has less afov of course but as an upside of this, stars are sharp.

I was also surprised when I used very low eye relief eyepieces that it is still fine, as long as the afov is not too big (~55° max).

Bought an 8mm TV Delos for some reason. Will be fun switching to it from a 7 and 10mm Pentax XW on Planets, GC's and PNe's.

Hadn't bought an eyepiece since 2022...hmm.gif

Vixen LVW 42mm

But now I'm going to need to buy a new diagonal to accommodate it, as I think my Baader T2 prism will vignette way too much.
There's always one more thing to buy...

Well... I managed to get my hands on some very nice 20mm and 8mm Televue Plossls. Along with a awesome Edmond RKE 28mm, and a University Optics 2x barlow.

I finally caved and ordered a 30mm UFF from Skyrover and a 24mm Orion-branded UFF from the Highpoint sale. I figured I'd never see those prices again.

I just received my Sky Rover 10 mm 82° eyepiece today. And for the first time since i bought many EPs in the past , it's sunny outside and the forecast

is excellent for a night of viewing , no clouds , very good transparency (clear sky chart), youhou!

It looks almost if not exactly like my 14 mm ES 82°. It's right beside it in my case, my EP collection is getting better and better.

My next purchase will be another Sky Rover , the 30 mm 2'' 70° , some of you say that it's way better than my Q70 32 mm from Orion.
