Does anyone know if I can add a second finder to a standard nexstar 8SE tube. I'd like to keep the finder if I add an Autostar unit onto the original finder mount.

I added a second shoe to my 8se. I get in the ballpark with a laser pointer then use a 8x50 RACI finder scope. I rarely bother with the goto function as it is more relaxing to start hop.

You can. There should be an extra set of screw holes on the band that circles the scope at the eyepiece end that will accommodate a second accessory like a finder.

Thanks both. I did wonder about those screws Tim. There appears to be another 2 pairs but I didn’t like to touch them in case something inside fell off!!
