Someone is selling only the go-to mount of the Meade StarNavigator 114mm for 130€, and I'm interested. But the mount comes with a weird custom support system that seems only compatible only with 114mm diameter telescopes.

If I buy it, I would like to use it with my 100mm newtonian and my 90mm maksutov. So, has anyone bought this telescope in the past? Is it possible to make it support smaller scopes?

On pictures at this website it looks as though the tube is removable from the mount. Take a look at pic 3.

Edit: The mount on this site looks somewhat different from  the telescope in your picture. Maybe 'the telescope in your picture is older with tube rings instead. That could be a totally different DIY thing adapting a smaller telescope. Asuming its possible to remove the OTA. Ask the seller if the tube comes off.

🙂
