Okay. Here's my second scope the beloved but not yet used much TOA150. This scope was purchased from Japan after a wait of about 3 month. After which the Japanese dealer informed me that this might be the last TOA150 they get.

I’ll assume that the marks near the top of the Ronchigrams are due to scratches in your optical flat, but the Ronchi bars look nice and straight, revealing excellent spherical correction. Nice scope!

That is correct. The box after going missing in transit for two month arrived smash and the protective case for the flat was smashed and the glass got scratched

I’m assuming it’s an uncoated flat?

Doesn't seem to be coated, no.

I was just asking because if it were coated then the damaged coatings could be stripped off. But regardless, your flat (even with the scratched glass) is just fine for DPAC work.

Tonight was my first planetary observation with this scope. I took it out for a ride on the AZ100 for balancing and cooldown an hour before dark. The last time I carried this beast I was working out for few month and thought it was heavy. This time.:.. well, let's just say thank goodness the garage is not too far from my observation area. I need to start lifting weights again.

I had a double star galore but I stopped for good 15 minutes at albiero as the colors were overwhelmingly good. The highlight of the night however was Saturn.
Last month we had very good night and my Stellarvue 152 draw some crowd and we all thought Saturn looked amazing. We used Delos 6mm and that was one of the best Saturn view I had in my life. Let me say this. This TOA150 view was quite a bit better. There's almost no comparison. The extreme fidelity that this scope presented Saturn with left me in emotional state of joy that I have not experienced in a very long time. I had to plug in my Pentax 3.5mm to examine closely what I was seeing. The planet looked 3D and I'm not using that term loosely. The rings in front of the planet appeared on a different plane than beside. The gap between the rings and the planet on the side due to the almost flat plane was still obvious. I wasn't able to discern that clearly before with different scope. The different colors on the planet surface were just like what photographs present.
After viewing the planet for about 15 minutes I decided it's time to tuck it in the garage and gave it a kiss. I wasn't ready to wait for Jupiter and have my mind blown away even more. I'll leave that to another night.
I'm convinced now that this TOA150 is the best telescope money can buy.
I'm very thankful that I got to experience this tonight and wanted to share. I cannot wait to examine the moon details with it and Jupiter.
I'm done buying any other brands beside Takahashi now ( refractors that is )

Your experience with this telescope mirror mine. I have stated it puts a grin/smile on my face when observing with it. It is really difficult to describe, but obvious to see.

I joke with Scott in NC quite often about my TOA 150 workout (now renamed the FCT 150 Health Program). It’s a real thing, especially entering into my 7th decade on the planet…shocked.gif
