Been a tough week at work and weather has not been cooperative.

Finally got the gear out today and imaged through sporadic cloud clusters.

Seeing started pretty good, but deteriorated, much like Gary's session.

Learning points:

Finally got the Zwo 462 to take images at 136fps.  It was the camera driver apparently.

Also, I am going to open a line of communication with Daystar.  Today's temp was 79.  Once again, on band performance

was somewhere between power off and the lowest power setting.  I am pulling my hair out on this one.

WL:  Altair planeta 101/11, Altair wedge, Baader continuum, zwo 462, 2.5x apertura barlow, 5x altair barlow

CaK:  Altair planeta, Lunt CaK wedge, zwo 462, 2.5x apertura barlow

Ha (closeups):  Omni120xlt, player one erf, Quark chromosphere, zwo 432

Ha (disc - 6 panel mosaic):  WO GT71, player one erf, quark, zwo 432

Sharpcap, autostakkert, imppg, pixinsight

WL / CaK:  Best 45 of 3000 frames

Ha:  Best 15% of 3000 frames

First up is the WL / CaK comparison at 1x

Next is some select spots at 5x

Next full disc in Ha

Next a comparison of the Quark with power (left - on lowest setting -5) and without power (on right).  Sure processing is not same, but difference is clear

Next a comparison of AR3780 and 3784 in all filters (WL and Ca at 2.5x)

Nice set of images, I especially like the WL closeups, very detailed.

I’ve been following your plight with the quark and your “off band” images seem about as good as mine, which I thought might be close to on-band. Granted, I’m new at this and have still to learn what on band looks like but at least now I have a better notion of what to try next time out. I hope Daystar can help you as there clearly is some gain to be had when you get on-band.

Thanks Warren!  I certainly spend more time on the WL recently.  Trying to get the details in the umbra and cell structure a bit clearer.  I haven't gotten where I want just yet.  I think its just the seeing holding me back.

Thanks so much!  It has certainly taken some time to learn what on band is and when things are on and not on.  I have been looking through this quark since December (and was initially just blown away by what I could see) but now that I know what I am looking for and how far off I am most of the time, I need to see if the company will address it.

Wow Jeff! You really went all out! Loving this full 3-wavelength summary of yesterdays's sun. Great job! And I love the closeups, especially AR3780 which if find quite interesting.

Thanks Steve!  Yeah if the seeing is decent I use all three filters.  I even thought the CaK at 2.5x was a good idea lol.  Glad I got to see 3780 in all its glory at least once this week.
