I ordered the Baader Solar Filter from First Light Optics for my Seestar and they were great to work with.  Ordered on the 7th and received today, 8/12.  Nice packaging, well put together.  So I decided to get pics from my existing filter (I believe it is Thousand Oaks that is included with the Seestar) and the new Baader film.  First impressions looking at the image on the phone I like the natural look of the sun with the Baader Filter.  That was no surprise as the filter with the Seestar shows an orange sun compared to a "white" sun with the Baader.  Then I captured 20 second AVI's for each filter and processed them as closely the same as possible since the color being processed is so different between the two. I process the RAW AVI which gives a B&W image so I stuck with that.  Other than a bit different curves in ImPPG the sharpening, etc was the same.  I tried to make them match in brightness as closely as possible without subjecting them to Pixinsight to balance the histograms.  Turns out, either image is really suitable for the sun given the scope and camera combination that you have to work with.  I think folks can be happy with either image processing the image this way.  If you are simply saving the jpg the camera takes, then the Baader is more pleasant to my eyes at the natural color.  But as we all know, other people like an orange or yellow sun, so personal tastes will rule.  Here are the disks side by side.  You can click on the image to view full sized

I should note, both AVI’s aligned and stacked in Autostakkert, sharpening and curves in ImPPG and final processing in Photoshop.

Hi, Warren, I happened to order the same filter from First Light Optics last week as I want to see if it is easier to use than the ABSF50 filter setup I have been using. I do plan to try it with a Starizona solar finder. I will let you know how it works out when it arrives.

Nice image processing there!

Thanks Peter!  It's a pretty simple set up.  It fits nicely on the Seestar.  I have not had any issues with the Seestar finding the sun with either filter.
