Is it threaded? What's the size you need?

Not threaded.  Just a 2.75” opening with a single thumbscrew/partial expansion ring to lock the adaptor. Here is the PlaneWave part that probably will work, if I can get it…

Jordan (jragsdale) is owed a big thanks on this slow-moving evaluation!  He came thru with a beautiful “Top Hat” adaptor (sorry for the appropriation, TeleVue wink.gif ) for the Tinsley’s drawtube.  The beast is now ready to be lifted into place atop an AP900 for mirror evaluation. I am hopeful that the quality will justify a full “restoration” to a beautiful place in a new observatory!  Look at Jordan’s awesome 3D printing work:  bow.gif

Three thumbscrews for the diagonal with threaded inserts added to the printed part. Looks like it belongs there!  And threads on the interior to avoid stray reflections!  Thank you so much, Jordan!!!  applause.gif

Now if the clouds will ever draw back their curtain…

So glad that worked out well for the first print, sometimes it takes a little trial and error. But it's PETG Carbon Fiber, so should be long lasting and will tolerate most of what you can throw at it. And with the brass threaded inserts, there shouldn't be any wear and tear on the threads like there would be with plastic threads. I tried to squeeze it to cause any deflection and it felt SOLID, sometimes I'm really surprised the strength you can get out of 3D printing.

And hey, if it works well, it could end up being your forever adapter. ;)
