Seeing wasn't too stable this morning but I got a couple of captures to work up using the 11" Newtonian. Didn't get up too early so didn't even look at Saturn.

Mars ended up with quite a rind but with the seeing I wasn't expecting much. Jupiter had 15,000 frame captures and Mars had 50,000 frames.

Looking forward to better opportunities later in the year but nice to be out in the (slightly) cooler mornings now and enjoy the quiet.

Nice work, Mike. I chose not to stay up for these but I hoped I could pick up the shadow cast by Olympus Mons. You caught that and and clouds near Arsia as well. Nicely done!

Thanks, everyone! Maybe the altitude helped because the seeing did not look all that great. Yeah, I was probably spoiled by the Saturn seeing a couple of nights ago.wink.gif

Mars is still only 6.1” - actually I was happy to get any detail - I only took two clips and was hurrying to beat daylight.

Nice images! I didn't want to wake up early, so I had a look around noon, when they were high in the sky. I was surprised that it was still possible to see some detail on Mars with a 8'' scope.
