Kasai 50mm f/4 Stella-Bino binoculars are made in Japan by Kasai-Trading and at least one US vendor is Agena.  The interesting thing about this binocular is that it lacks prisms and gives a telescope view.  But the key point is that it accepts 1.25" eyepieces.  You supply your own as the binoculars don't come with any.  The binoculars weight is roughly one pound (640 grams or there abouts) and are roughly 10 inches long.

I have no idea if it was a good idea, but I ordered a pair (yet to arrive) and plan to stick two night vision equipped eyepieces on them.

If it all works out (who knows) I'll pack the punch of an 8 inch telescope into a pair of 50mm binoculars.

They arrived today and I put a quick blurb about them in the binocular forum here.

Not fundamentally different than using a pair of 50mm CCD finders.

If you have a 3D printer, you can even print a bridge. This one is non- adjustable (printed to my own IPD), but I suppose if one were inclined, one could print a hinged bridge.

I used the Kasai binos with night vision coupled eyepieces this evening and put my experience using them into the Binocular Forum here
