Folks, as reported in Sky & Telescope on page 50 of the September, 2024 issue, there will be a partial lunar eclipse as the earth's umbra passes over a small portion of the moon. I've seen Time and Date's excellent simulation of the event from a macro level at my location. Does anyone know of a moon map that has been designed to demonstrate what will happen in terms of what features -- craters, maria, mountain ranges, etc., and and what times -- the umbral shadow passes over those portions of the affected lunar surface? That would be nice if someone knows of, or has made, such a simulation. Saturn, being just past opposition on the 7th, will be near all the action as the moon goes into a rather beautiful opposition of her own. Thanks ahead of time.
