I have the newer ASIAIR Plus 256G and wanted to ask a quick question. There are no dropdown options for the primary and guide cameras in the ASIAIR app. I have both a Nikon Z6III and Z8 and was going to see if I could approximate the Z6III with a Z6 or Z6II, Z7, Z7II, etc. but no dropdown selections are available. Am I missing something or is it that the ASIAIR has to recognize the camera from its approved list to  populate those fields?

Assuming both are properly connected and powered, the camera has to be in manual mode, bulb exposure, raw format (highest quality), with power saving, noise reduction, automatic ISO, and stabilization disabled.

Thanks for your reply! That kind of confirms that the ASIAIR Plus needs to recognize the specific camera rather than me picking one from a dropdown menu (like the dropdown menu for the mounts). Unfortunately, both my Nikons are newer and not on the compatible list yet. I’ll have to run the camera separately, if I can. I’m getting the ASI2600MC Pro on Monday, so I can use that while I  wait for the Nikons to be tested.

It was properly set up, but both my Nikon cameras are not yet tested and not on the approved list. It appears the ASI software only recognizes specific camera models and ignores everything else. I was hoping I could get close in using a similar model, but looks like it’s not set up that way. Example - The Nikon Z6II is on the approved list, but my Z6III  is not. I’ll use a ASI2600MC Pro while  I wait for the newer models to get tested. Thanks for your suggestions.

Very unfortunate.  While it makes some sense that the Z6III isn't supported yet, the Z8 isn't particularly new.  You may want to post on the ZWO forums to get developer attention.

I’m up and running with both the Z8 and the ASI2600MC Pro on the Redcat. The ASIAIR Plus recognizes both and I can use the ASI app. Now I just need a sky with some visible stars in it!! smirk.gif
