Hi everyone,

Below are the Zoom links for the Portland XVII Alt Az Workshop starting this Friday evening, 13 September. All times are for the Pacific Time zone (western North America).

There is no registration fee to join the Zoom meetings, or attend in person. However, for in person attendees we request a donation of 5$ per meal. Feel free to bring your own food too!

We've had a recent agenda cancellation - our Peter Abrahams Astronomical History Talk presenter is unable to participate this year, but we'll continue with this important part of our agenda next year. I've attached the revised agenda to this email.

Finally, if you know someone who would like to attend the Zoom meetings, and isn't on CN, feel free to share the links below.

I was thinking of viewing this with Zoom but how do I connect to view it?

I better make sure I have zoom on my computer.

Never been a one of these events do they expect the zoom people to participate?

I ask because my laptop has a camera and microphone, but my desktop has a 33 inch monitor has no camera or microphone.

All you have to do is t click the link in my original post above for the session you want to view. Nothing is expected of you as a viewer - without video and microphone on your large monitor, you'll still see and hear the presentations. If you have a question, you can type it in the comments section. It's easy once you get used to it.

You do not need to install Zoom ahead of time. Just join the link from your browser.

Are the links working for people? When I try to sign in for the Saturday morning session I see the following message:

"Host has another meeting in progress."

NEVERMIND got it to work. Used the afternoon Zoom link for Saturday even though its 10 AM in Portland: https://us06web.zoom...tXoakH71afXNr.1

The next speaker about "Sketching at the eyepiece" is scheduled for 10:30 AM Pacific Time which is 1:30 PM in Philadelphia. You still have time to join if you are still interested.

I wasn't planning on that one. I don't draw well.

Hi,

Unfortunately I was travelling last weekend and could attend/watch live. I was looking at the YouTube recorded streams which is helpful. Are any of the presentations going to be made available ?

TIA

Ed
