I have a WO z103 and I am interested in trying solar imaging.  I have done some imaging using a front mounted white light filter plus my Ha filter (on filterwheel) and ASI2600 M pro.

What products would I need to buy to maximize usable focal length and resolution with my current equipment? This is for imaging only.

Ha (for DS) doesn't help much in solar imaging.

To get little better you could get Solar Continuum filter or CaK filter.

Another alternative is Herschel wedge.

Beyond those it's get a lot more expensive - meaning real solar Ha filters/scopes.

Thanks for the reply. Why do u say my DS Ha filter isn’t much help? My understanding is that I need to do Ha for flares/photosphere. I’m thinking to add a 3x Barlow in the image train and ditch the white light filter. What’s your rationale for the lack of utility with my current Ha? Granted it’s a 7nm “wide-spectrum” but I don’t see that as hurting the images.

Prior art - tldr; you are using the wrong filter.

Quick safety note, DO NOT ditch the white light filter without using another appropriate solar filter designed for solar use, and your application. Without proper filtering the suns light will destroy your equipment or eye.

You’ll need a dedicated and purpose designed h-alpha solar filter for the details you’re after, such as the daystar quark. There are other options too, but again, make sure it’s designed specifically for what you’re doing, don’t try to wing it.

Phew!  Thank you! And that’s why I love cloudy night forums. Glad I was smart enough to keep the solar filter on!  I’ll stick with deep space!

Don’t want to discourage you, solar imaging can be great fun, the sun is always changing! Just make sure you do it the right way. The people over in the solar forum are a great help if you need some guidance.
