I have been having a lot of trouble getting started with Siril.  I am trying to process images that I took of NGC7000, and I have a working directory with subdirectories for red, green, blue, Ha, L-3, O3, S2.  I have renamed my image files to conform to Siril requirements.  Now I am trying to set up sequences for each color.  So, then I click Open, and the Open File dialog shows the files from the directory that I selected.  As I understand it, I am now supposed to select all of the files and then click Save Sequence.  But none of the normal techniques for selecting a range of files works (like select all, or click on the first file then click the last file holding Shift down.

There is a lot of documentation, but I have not found it to be helpful.  For example, I found a section on sequences with subsections:  A set of two or more FITS files, a single SER file, a single FITS file, Loading a sequence.  But nothing tells me the sequence of actions to take, and typical easy things to do are made very complicated because there is no commonality with other applications (I guess modern applications don't do that any more).  Like there is not menu bar.  I can't find any File/Save or other common methods.

I am using release 1.2.1.  I should be using the most up to date release but I got an error message when I tried to download anything more recent.

Any helpful suggestions?

Dana

Have you searched patriot Astro, Deep Space Astro, or Cuiv YouTube channels? They may have one on that.

Thanks, Philippe.  I have looked at this video.  In the video, for the Ha flats, he drags them into the Conversion tab, and hits the Convert button.  Even this confused me at first.  Consider that documentation clearly talks about converting other file types to .fit file types, I thought this tab was only, for example, if your images are.tiff file types maybe.  The video was too blurred to show what kind of file types he was using. But I dragged my blue image files to the convert tab, clicked the convert button, and the files appeared in the sequence tab as a sequence.

I guess I know how to do this now.  But it is very counter intuitive.
