Has anyone used either of these on a refractor with their NV gear?

I am interested in hearing any feedback on the quality of the view.

Thanks!

Ed,

With the 2” GSO, I could not achieve focus in the Boren-Simon or the NewMoon. I recall a comment by VonDragon and / or others on using the Antares 2” reducers which is what I use and both focus ( 0.7x and 0.5x).

I still use the Mod3 and PVS7- both C-mount.

My refractor is binoviewer ready, so I have mountains of focuser range. The primary concern is off axis performance.

I have the .73 reducer from the Boren-Simon, and it actually works quite well, but just looking for a little extra speed.

The Long Pern, which I linked above, is both a .6x reducer and a flattener.  Someone in the equipment forum said the GSO was not very sharp off axis and we know if it is not sharp using a regular eyepiece, it will be worse using NV. The Long Pern costs almost 3 times as much but it is probably one of those things where it is worth it.

Thanks for the data points though. I appreciate it, and hope you are doing well!

Ed
