So I've gotten a couple of emails the past few days about an updated Astronomics Site and that I should log in.

It looks legit, but I figured I'd just post here to make sure it is. ;)

They have redesigned the site, but as always, if you are suspicious of a link in email, just type in the url directly in your browser, or even easier, save it as a bookmark.

That's probably more of an issue on a mobile device vs a desktop/laptop.

There's also a link to it right at the top of the forum pages.

If the email is from questions@astronomics.com than it's a legit email... or at least I hope it is, since I've done reactivated my account through the link

It is legit. The old website passwords could not make the trip to the new platform. This new password is also the key to having the CN discount display at checkout and not as a refund after the fact. They are finishing up how to make it happen exactly. Some accounts are live with the feature, while others haven’t fully come online yet.

One cannot (normally) determine the validity from just what your email client says is the sender, as it is easy to spoof email, and someone can always set a 'reply-to' address, which is what will usually show up in mail clients as who it's from, if that's set.

You need to actually inspect the headers, and even then it can be hard to tell if they use a mailing service.

Should I be worried if I haven't received this email?

Your email address isn't in the database from the website.   So, that would be the root of the issue.

OK, I shall go to my profile and rectify that omission..

Thanks,

Correct, but there is not an account for you on astronomics with the email that is listed on CN.

How can I correct this problem?  I have purchased from Astronomics before so they should have that email address..

Thanks

Dave

Mike, I got the email but was suspicious at the time, too.  I just hit the "login" link on the website and got the 6-digit code to enter.  I used this and I see my account OK,  but should I go ahead and use the email link, too?  Or will I further confuse things?  (The last time I ordered, I got the after-the-fact rebate, rather than the up-front adjustment.  I want to ensure that I'm in your database correctly.)

Thanks!

The platform was outdated and sunsetting, so it was time to move on to a more user friendly experience.
