An APM glass is a LZOS that is certainly a downgrade scientifically... The increased aperture may or may not compensate the quality of visuals...

The APM APO doublet refractors are neither equipped with LZOS glass, nor are they ground or polished by LZOS. Those that have LZOS glas are the APM/LZOS triplet lenses, made in Russia by LZOS from glass melt to final lens in cell, at a very different price point.

The APM APO SD Refractor 140MM F/7 and APM APO FPL 51 Refractor 152mm F/7,9 doublet lenses are both made in China from commercially available Asian/Chinese glass elements and are accordingly priced lower than the same aperture LZOS lenses.

This is also my experience: after owning the Takahashi FC100DC in parallel with APM 140ED, I am seeing practically the same details in planets and Moon but with better saturated colors while of course the FC100 image is darker at high magnifications.

This has made me to order a FS128 from here at a good price, even if now I need to pay for high costs of transport and custom fees from USA to Europe.

I only hope it will come in good shape as there will be a very bumpy road to travel.

Now of course I hope I can sell both my FC100DC and APM140 as these two are quite redundant with the FS128.

I think you are making the right move and I think the FS 128 will be just as good as your FC 100DC, but with better resolution and 64% more light and the same extraordinary contrast.
