Maybe try keeping something and taking care of it. i will never sell my Meade 127ED. I love that scope. I don't care if other scopes are better. They aren't that much better to replace my pride of ownership.

Well if i was well off like most of you guys i could keep more but if i kept everything i bought over the years i would have to rent space gents to keep it all. I am not a clutter person. My motto since age 14 was to buy as many scopes as i could to try out. I also had another 4" that was made in 1955 but all the pics were on a cam. Pics of many scopes i had back around 2000 to 2007 and i ruined the film trying to get it out of the cam.
The M160 i got for $500 was rough and sat on a porch for 40 years' Lens was milk white and guide scope lens was shot also. This scope was so old it had a brass tube with two weights inside and had the black rim around the dew cap. Mount was missing the weight drive. But also made a killing on it. Mount was in good shape and i had all tubes painted at a body shop. But never had a bad U lens yet. They were all sharp.

the piece along the tube is meant for an alt az mount. That is a tube for a 150.
no clue what the piece on the mount is.

A few years back I was able to obtain a clean Unitron 142, which I consider a true classic. For me, it is the perfect size and one that I had always dreamed of as a youth back in the early 1970's.
I was very happy to finally have one and it performs very well, both optically and mechanically.

Starman 876 is correct about the thing on the tube I think. There were two of them and they made it difficult tho place the tube in the cradle so I removed them and repaired the holes.
The telescope was also used on a fixed pier on the roof of a school. The green thing was between two screws to adjust N orientation of the parralactic mount.

I don't have a Meade 440. The mount in the first picture is Polarex though I didn't have the counterweight or slo-mo cables attached for the picture. The mount in the 2nd' photo is a 1-1/2" shaft Optic-craft.

This might get me in trouble but it's the best I'm going to be able to do. Top and bottom shelf. As usual, Top Shelf has the best stuff. I'm feeling thirsty.
The only reason I'm doing these two entries is that beauty mark beauty mount on the left is from the OP originally.
Two 152 reasonably loaded. The mount box for the right unit is on the right with mini blower on it.

Bottom shelf which is also my regular imbibe at the local establishment.
More parts for the top shelf plus an early 150 mount and original mount box.
Two floors further down are these two versions of the rare model 105. No hyper value from me, these are just not heard of much and not great for search results. Beautiful mounts and Unitron smooth all the way.

the 150 mount is one of the best Alt Az mounts I have ever used. Will hold so much weight.

I enjoyed getting to meet you and getting to look through your Unitron.
Thanks

Here's the first two Unitrons that I had:
I sold them off to buy more stuff, but I missed having a Unitron.
Over the last few years I have purchased 7 more, selling off 3 of them. So now I am down to two 114's, and two 128's. One of the 114's and one of the 128's are from the mid 50's.
My other 128 is almost like new, and it has many accessories. Larger finder with brackets; the solar projection assembly with the 2 screens; tube CW; complete Unihex with a 40mm; a Duetron; and an original CD.

Early on in this hobby my friend and I visited an appliance/astronomy story 90 miles south in Milwaukee. This was around 1981. When we arrived we saw a 4ā Unitron on an equatorial mount in the window. Our mouths dropped to the ground. We went in and got a closer look. It was truly impressive! So was the price!
I wish I had a picture to go along with this story.

Iām rather surprised to not see that anyone has a 3ā Unitron folded refractor. A local physics prof in our club had one. Very cool.
look at post 17 in this thread. i also have the 4" folded unit
